FINAL REFLECTION!!

So it's looking like its time to graduate from Mr. Odonells photography class , and a lot of growth with the camera, utilizing composition, and photoshop skills has gone on.  The first day I came I had little to no camera skills, with only a hand me down camera  and will to shoot backing me. The first day was filled with multiple technical terms and it almost seemed as if we missed some content. But as the course went on more and more things went on, until We finally learned how to use the manual settings, scenes, and modes of a camera. This includes knowing what settings scenes mess with. In addition we learned in what situations certain camera settings would be more desirable and useful besides auto. From then until now the greatest change in me as a photographer came in the form of understanding the technical aspects of shutter speed It taught me how to capture the subjects exactly how I want them, and how to tinker with the light balance. Assignment 5 - Grammy Night Special

Image Triangle F-stop-5.9 Shutter Speed- 1/15 Iso-3200 Summary: This week I was enlisted as paparazzi for the Senior Grammy night event and took my camera in. This event let me get used to shooting in events with a low-profile, and in a dark setting. In addition I was able to practice timing and learning how to know when to be ready for a shot.

Summary: For this assignment, I decided to tinker with photoshops automated photo-merge tool. It did all the photoshop editing for me and allowed me to stitched together panoramic photos.

Assignment 4 Black and White

Image Triangle F-stop-3.5 Shutter Speed- 1/40 Iso-250 (AWB) Summary: The goal of this week was to learn how to take photos and find the ones that would best transfer over into black and white. Photos that didn't have value from color and already had high monotone contrast were the best subjects to take photos of.

Assignment 3 Macro

Image Triangle  F-Stop-4.0  Shutter Speed - 1/800  Iso - 1600 (AWB) Summary: I'm learning how to get more acquainted with the camera and learning frame up shots using the settings better. The assignment of capturing macro shots basically revolved around finding small things and changing aperture or light balance to accent it.

Photoshopped Car

Original Photoshopped Assignment: I was tasked to retouch an Autoshow car. I needed to add tint, balance the light/darks, remove background clutter, and unsatisfying gleam. For this task I used photoshop's tool and a reference to create an almost identical picture. (reference photoshopped picture below) Summary: I learned how to use photoshops crop, adjustments, layers, navigator, brushes, and stamp tool to edit my photos to desirable standards. All in all the photo was a success and future projects will use these foundational skills.

Pop Art Photoshop

For this assignment we had to take a picture and edit it so that it corresponding to several primary colors. We then inserted them into an enlarged campus and assigned each a corner. The goal was to get some experience with photoshop and create a colorized pop album color using ourselves. I learned how to fine tune photoshop to create photos fast. In addition I learned how photo values encompass the effects on photos, so I have to think of all the parameters. In addition, I learned how use layers very affectively to edit photos. Overall, I got more experience in getting comfortable with photoshop.

Assignment 2 - Food

For this week of shooting I must regretfully say that I couldn't take my event photos which inspired because of the event policies. However, the birthday party I went to ended up being the perfect opportunity to shot food. With all of the various foods there the cake definitely proved to be the easiest and most prominent piece. Image Triangle F-stop-5.0 Shutter Speed- 1/80 Iso-1600 (AWB) Summary: I realized that I should always have back up plans, and that I should check out my shooting environment before hand. With food, I noticed that people don't really have patience so it's best for you and everyone else to be well fed beforehand.
